Transforming Countryside Mall Into a Cultural Hub for Families, Millennials, and Gen X

Countryside Mall, nestled in the heart of Clearwater, had a vision that extended beyond traditional retail. Their goal was to evolve into a multifaceted destination by fostering a connection with the local arts community. They wanted to increase foot traffic, bolster social media engagement, and cater to a diverse audience, including families, millennials, and Gen X.


THE STORY


Despite having a dedicated Marketing Manager, Countryside Mall encountered hurdles in organizing events that resonated with their target audience and achieved desired outcomes. Due to constraints in time and staffing, they struggled to host on-site events that met their objectives. Marketing Manager Haley sought to create events and promotions that would effectively connect with multiple demographics and strengthen the mall's community ties through art.

IDENTIFYING THE CHALLENGES


INTRODUCING ARTWAVE

To address Countryside Mall's unique requirements, Simply Promotions proposed the ArtWave initiative, a Community Connection event that supported local artists and engaged the community in creating permanent art installations within the mall.

ArtWave, conceived in the summer of 2020, quickly gained recognition for its artistic endeavors and mission. The program focused on creating art pieces that encouraged customer interactions, particularly through social media engagement.


OUR SOLUTIONS



The ArtWave program has been operational for three years, during which thousands of people have visited and shared Countryside Malls one-of-a-kind art created by artist and the community Artistic Contribution: Four unique community art pieces have been installed as part of the ArtWave program, each interacting with hundreds of customers daily. Longevity and Milestones: In June 2023, the ArtWave program celebrated its third anniversary by installing its fourth community mural, titled "All we Seed is Love," focusing on inclusion and community love.
